Elementary School

Welcome to the elementary division of the International School of Islamabad. We pride ourselves on creating an environment where students are challenged to reach their full potential. The Elementary School is a place where students thrive academically, experience learning in a secure and continually evolving child-centered environment. Our talented and highly qualified faculty is dedicated to the academic, social and emotional growth of each student. The students develop more effective communication skills, and most importantly, actively participate in the learning process as they develop the skills and attitudes to become life-long learners.

Our curriculum is standards-based, following the philosophical belief that when outcomes are identified, enduring student understanding is the result. As well as offering the core subjects of math, science, language arts and social studies, we have a strong specialist curriculum in art, French, host nation, library, life skills, music, physical education, technology, and Urdu. Additionally, we offer English as a Second Language and a resource program that supports student academic achievement.

Each morning we open school with a Morning Assembly designed to celebrate student learning and encourage a sense of identity. A broad array of activities and programs are offered in the After School Activity Program throughout the year. Student government is stressed at the elementary level. Our Student Council takes part in a retreat at the beginning of each academic year to identify goals that will encourage student participation in community service activities as well as enriching the school experience for all students. All students participate in House System activities throughout the year that promote school and team spirit. There are many other activities that highlight student success: Book Month, Writer's Celebration, Talent Show, NESA Virtual Science Fair, winter and spring musical productions and much more.
