Middle School

Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to Middle School at ISOI. The Middle School program at ISOI consists of Grades 6-8 and focuses on the needs of early adolescents. It is a time of academic and social growth in preparation for the challenges of High School and beyond.

During the 3 years in Middle School students take a group of core subjects including Mathematics, Science, English and Social Studies. In addition, they also have classes in Health & Physical Education, Computers, French and the Arts. For those who require additional support English as a Second Language (ESL) and Communication Skills classes are offered.

Students are provided additional opportunities to get involved in non-academic activities through Friday Exploratories, a variety of school sports, and Advisory blocks.

Staff collaboration and training ensure that students are in an environment that allows them to build the skills necessary to be successful in school and in life.
