Middle School

Middle school is a key stage in student development – a time when the child passes into young adulthood, signifying both personal growth and learning about service to the larger community. The middle school at ISOI is comprised of Grades 6, 7, 8, and focuses on core content development as well as the introduction of more elective courses and extracurricular activities.

All students study math, English, social studies, and science, with a strong emphasis on research and writing skills interwoven throughout all courses. During students’ time in middle school, they have the opportunity to prepare academically for the rigors of the IBDP in high school, as well as participate in more activities such as sports, drama, music, technology activities, and supervised socials.

Underscoring all of these activities is a commitment to Global Citizenship & Inquiry initiatives led by a dedicated faculty and support staff who ensure that all students “strive for academic success, develop intellectual curiosity, and become responsible global citizens.”
