ADMISSIONS
How old must my child be to enroll in pre-kindergarten?
- 2 years old by August 1 for semester 1
- 3 years old by January 1 for semester 2
Is there a deadline for applications and admissions? Applications and student admissions are accepted throughout the school year
Does ISOI have a wait list? There are times when some grades have a wait list.

Will my child be assessed for admission? All applicants will be assessed during the admissions process. The admissions committee uses a wide variety of selection criteria.
What happens after my child’s application is submitted?
- The Admissions Committee reviews the application and supporting documents.
- The registrar contacts the family to discuss the next steps.
- Allow several days for the registrar to contact you.
My child has little or no English; how will they cope? ISOI offers individual support in the classroom, one to one support from our Reading Specialist and specialized English classes. All faculty are experienced in teaching students who speak another first language.
Is there a direct transfer from other international schools? No, ISOI is an independent, non-profit school with individual admissions procedures. We do consider credits earned from other schools.
Do you have a program for special children? Yes, ISOI is prepared to support children with mild, moderate, and intensive needs as defined by the United States Department of State Office of Overseas Schools.
ACADEMICS/STUDENT LIFE
Do I have to complete an IB Diploma?
Students may choose one of three highly rated, internationally recognized graduation options:
- An ISOI Diploma and an IB Diploma
- An ISOI Diploma with IB Certificates
- An ISOI Diploma
What is Virtual School? Virtual School is how students attend classes ‘on-line’ using the internet on the rare days it is unsafe for students to travel to the campus. Teachers meet ‘face-to-face’ with students for their classes.
Do you have a dress code or uniform?
There are no school uniforms. We do have a dress code that:
- Is respectful of the local culture.
- Allows individual expression.
- Fosters an academic learning environment.
What is the School’s policy on bullying? Student well-being and safety are foremost in ISOI policies and decision making. Our policy includes: prevention, providing a supportive and inclusive learning environment, coupled with clear communication regarding reporting procedures and appropriate consequences.
How many students in a class? Class size is between 12 to 22 students allowing teachers to provide individual attention and support to students.

Is there a corporate seat policy? Admission rights are reserved; there is no corporate seat policy.
Are there sibling discounts? Currently, there are no sibling discounts.
Can tuition fees be paid on an installment plan? Yes, the Director of Finance determines installment plans on a case-to-case basis. Contact the Registrar nkamal@isoi.edu.pk for assistance.
What is the Development Fee for and can it be paid by installments? The Director of Finance answers all financial questions. Contact the Registrar nkamal@isoi.edu.pk for assistance.
CAMPUS LIFE
What are the lunch options for my Child? ISOI’s cafeteria serves halal food and is nut free. Your child may:
- purchase food and snacks from ISOI’s Cafeteria
- bring lunch and snacks from home
Menus are sent via email in advance so you may choose.
Is parental involvement welcome at ISOI? Yes, parent volunteers are welcome.
Is there a Parent Teacher Organization? Yes, the PTO organizes social activities, opportunities for parents to connect, and information sessions with local professionals. Specific details are available to members only.
Do you offer bus service? We do not offer transport. Security protocols are available to members only.
How long does it take to get to the School? Islamabad’s residential areas are about 15 minutes from the campus during normal traffic.
How does the School communicate to parents? All parents are expected to provide the school with a private email. Communication regarding news, events, and students is available to members only.
Do you offer afterschool activities? Yes, all students may enjoy a wide variety activities after school.
- Elementary school offerings change regularly and are crafted to engage as many students as possible.
- Secondary students participate in sports and other activities, some of which offer local and international travel opportunities.
