Legacy
ISOI celebrates its 60th birthday August 1, 2026. We credit the U.S. Armed Forces wives for creating the original school on the Rawalpindi cantonment grounds in 1965. The United States Embassy in Islamabad supported the vision of an International School of the highest caliber philosophically and economically. The Embassy worked hand-in-hand with the ISOI Board to acquire the land from the newly created capital city and build the school.
ISOI’s Mission is as relevant today as it was at its inception 30 years ago. The Mission is student centered and guides all decisions.
Each student strives for academic success:
- ISOI students score extremely well on their IB scores world-wide
- ISOI students are successful at universities and colleges world-wide
- Alumni tell us over and over they have a special place in their hearts for their school
Each student develops intellectual curiosity:
The Sustaining Excellence model for Middles States Association of Colleges and Schools Accreditation is by invitation only. Read Christian Talbot’s, President and CEO, MSA response February 2025 to ISOI’s action research on intellectual curiosity.
“Rose, it was such a joy and an honor to witness your Sustaining Excellence presentation. I could not be more proud of you, and the ISOI community for your long-term thinking and disciplined work on behalf of your students as well as the wider world of international education. You're a real credit to Middle States!”
Christian Talbot, President and CEO, MSA
